Belonging at Truman
Welcome to the CDI where everyone who walks through our doors feels valued, seen, supported, and celebrated!
We embrace a foundation built on the principles of inclusive excellence, encouraging everyone to actively participate in both academic and social realms, fostering growth in identity development, exploring the intersections of diverse experiences, nurturing inter-group relations, and championing justice. Together, we are Truman, united in our commitment to advocate for individuality and the betterment of the world we collectively call home.
Weekly Recap
CDI Seminar: Native American Heritage Month
This semester, we held monthly sessions featuring Truman faculty members presenting on various topics. During November, the theme was Native American Heritage Month. Our guest speaker was Dr. Marc Becker from Truman's History Department. Dr. Becker delivered a talk on the Indigenous peoples of South America, with a focus on Ecuador. The session was well-attended by both faculty and students and was highly engaging. It brilliantly tied in social issues experienced by different populations across the globe, including those in the United States.
